THE BMW BRUTUS!!!

Below post was put togeather by my friend Shervantha. While i tend to focus on the more tecnical side of...well everything related to the automobile world, Shervantha looks into the more near impossible, beyond imaginative side of things. I dont know where he finds these stuff, but they are some crazy, mind blowing, stupifying finds!!.....

THE BMW BRUTUS!!!!!!!!!!

Check it out!!!.....

Amazing isn’t it to have four wheels which has so much of power with a huge engine? Like for example the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which has ample power to take you from A to B like at the speed of a bullet. Just imagine a car more powerful than that and tonnes of power. An introduction to the BMW Brutus that consists of a massive 46 liter V12 engine. A 46liter engine in the sense each cylinder having the ability to hold 46/12 liters of the petrol air mixture and V12 meaning it has 6 cylinders on each side all lined up in the shape of a V like shown in the picture. Just imagine the power produced by one of these engines. It’s even bigger than the 9liter V16 engine placed inside a Rolce Royce Phantom in Johnny English Reborn.

Obviously this was way back in time and needs no introduction as to who were the people behind it. They were some crazy Germans who wanted to make something that was one of a kind and indeed still up to now it is the only of its kind. This engine that was fitted to the Brutus was a V12 engine made for airplanes and they managed to fit into a racecar designed and built by them. On the contrary this car has a lot of weight which has some drawbacks where the engine was 510kg in weight, 1.8meters in length, 1.1 meters in height and 0.87meters in width which made it hard for them to find a proper and good chassis but Germans as it is in their blood they managed to get hold of a 1908 American LaFrance car that could hold all of this weight. In 1925 these 46.0liter V12 engines had no shortage and there were plenty of them because Germany wasn’t allowed to own any military aircrafts.

The Germans have indeed made history in it and it would be a great pleasure driving one of those because you can cruise at a speed at 100kmph at 800rpm!!! How cool is that! That’s like the normal rpm of a car when you start it. That’s like a so little on sound and so much in speed which means less wear and tear! The sound of it is like having a fly or mosquito whizz past you while you sit in a 1.5 liter engine corolla doing 80kmph which would have a rather noisy engine. Ofcourse it took these crazy Germans several years to finish off their great idea which has made history. This was manufactured in a workshop belonging to Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim and at the end of their great production they decided to name this monster BRUTUS.

This car is owned by Sinsheim Museum in Germany today and is on display.

According to this museum this car puts out 500 horsepower at just 1500 rpm and that’s like so little yet so much. Shocking isn’t it to know that this 46 liter beast does just 1 km to a liter (which is 2.35mpg)and hence the enormous fuel tank!!!

Check out the length and structure of this beast

You can see how big this thing is and when they say 1.8 meters in length which is close upon 2 meters!!! Wonder what it would ever be like to steer it around a track but I guess it would have been made for the straights because of its humungous weight

The BMW abbreviation is stamped on to each of the cylinder heads and you could probably just imagine what a strong name BMW was even during world war 2. That’s like imprinting the owner’s name on a horse which is running for a race on each of its joints!!!

As you can see the length and the size of the engine A of the Brutus you can see the amount of heat it produces and it’s no doubt that it breathes out fire as well. The pictures show the ferociousness of the engine and how powerful it is and there is a guy even trying to BBQ a something with the heat of this engine!
